Established Restaurant & Bar for Sale
An established independent restaurant and bar in the heart of historic downtown Lawrenceville — turnkey, fully equipped, and ready to continue or reimagine.
The Opportunity at a Glance
Local Republic is one of the most recognized independent restaurants in Gwinnett County — a chef-driven Southern gastropub with a serious craft-cocktail and draft program, set in a beautifully restored building on Lawrenceville's historic square. The business is offered for sale as a turnkey operation: continue the established brand, or launch your own concept in a fully built-out, fully equipped space.

The Offering
This is an asset sale of an established, going-concern restaurant — the furniture, fixtures, and equipment of a full-service operation, in place and ready to run from day one. The building itself is available on a long-term lease, not for sale.
Asking price, financials, and lease terms are shared with qualified buyers under a brief confidentiality agreement.
The Space & What Conveys
A late-1800s building taken back to its original brick and fully restored across three finished levels — including a basement built out for prep and storage and a 4-unit HVAC system (2017). Headline kitchen and bar equipment is noted below; a complete furniture, fixtures & equipment inventory is provided to qualified buyers.
A 16-foot ventilated cook line and 3,000-gallon grease trap, built for a full-service scratch kitchen.
Walk-in refrigeration plus line and bar cooling for a high-volume operation.
A main bar and secondary service bar, with a deep spirits back bar in place.
Multi-tower craft draft setup — a signature of the bar program.
An open-kitchen layout with chef's-table seating — a distinctive guest experience.
Modern point-of-sale and back-of-house systems already in place.
Location & Market
139 N Perry sits on the Lawrenceville historic square — the civic and cultural heart of Gwinnett County — steps from the Aurora Theatre and the Lawrenceville Lawn, in a trade area seeing a surge of residential and hospitality investment.
The Story
Local Republic was founded in 2011 by Ben Bailey and Chris Collin to bring Lawrenceville the kind of chef-driven food and craft-cocktail bar it didn't yet have. In 2017 it moved to its landmark home on Perry Street — directly across from the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse and around the corner from the acclaimed Aurora Theatre, a partnership the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has written about.
The building is part of the story. Its original brick structure dates to the late 1800s — the exact year lost when Gwinnett's early records burned with the county courthouse in 1871 — and a second floor was added in the early 1900s. Before Local Republic opened, it was taken back to that original brick and fully restored across three levels.
After fifteen years building Local Republic, the founders are offering this established business to the right operator — sold turnkey, ready for a new owner to carry the name forward, or to build something new on a foundation that is already proven.
